Longshank Burrs are defined as those tools that have a shank length longer than
standard. This is 38mm long for a 3mm dia shank and 45mm long for a 6mm dia
shank.

The requirement of these tools is usually to access difficult areas, deep into a
component,and burrs have been made on shanks up to 300mm in length.
Unfortunately these tools suffer from a phenomena known as whirling and in order
that they can be used safely, the normal operating speeds must be reduced, often
dramatically,to avoid tool damage and personal injury.
